General Practitioner – Surgery

About the role

The General Practitioner (Surgery) provides comprehensive medical care to patients in a hospital setting, ensuring high‑quality treatment aligned with evidence‑based medicine, professional ethics, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct patient history taking, physical examinations, and interpret common diagnostic tests.
• Manage admissions from ER and OPD, coordinate investigations, and develop treatment plans under senior supervision.
• Perform daily ward rounds, document progress notes, and present cases during morning reports.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, emergency care, and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Execute diagnostic procedures such as bone‑marrow aspiration, biopsy, lumbar puncture, and cavity aspirations after senior consultation.
• Contribute to outpatient services, specialized units (ICU, CCU, Hemodialysis) as needed.
• Prepare discharge summaries, death reports, and other required documentation.
• Engage in continuous medical education and departmental training activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree with registration to practice in Saudi Arabia.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional ethics and quality standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with consultants, senior registrars, and nursing staff.
• Strong communication skills for patient and family education.
