GIS I&C Team Lead

About the role

The GIS Installation & Commissioning Team Lead will join Hitachi Energy’s Dammam operations, providing technical advice, commissioning, installation and testing of GIS equipment. The role focuses on solving complex start‑up issues, recommending upgrades, and building lasting customer relationships to secure future business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a mixed team of junior and experienced GIS field service engineers.
• Manage daily site activities, ensuring timely execution of assembly, malfunction repairs, preventive maintenance and commissioning orders.
• Meet project scheduling, cost and material targets while participating in site meetings.
• Review and correct project reports, contribute to customer assessment documentation, and close safety hazards.
• Coach and monitor team competency, maintain an up‑to‑date competency matrix, and ensure sufficient certified supervisors.
• Plan and monitor team utilization across projects, fostering clear communication and addressing team needs.
• Conduct regular site visits to improve efficiency, track man‑hours, and align with project managers.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and uphold Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in GIS, with a valid GIS certification.
• Strong knowledge of SF6 gas handling.
• Preferred experience with PGHV transmission and sub‑transmission GIS products.
• Proficiency in MS Project.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic.
