GIS Specialist

About the role

WSP is looking for an experienced GIS Specialist to support major transportation, road and utility infrastructure projects in Jeddah. The role involves managing, maintaining and analysing geospatial data throughout the project lifecycle to aid construction supervision, asset management and client reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage GIS databases, geodatabases and spatial datasets for infrastructure projects.
• Integrate survey, utility, engineering and construction data into GIS platforms.
• Produce high‑quality GIS maps, drawings, dashboards and spatial reports for project teams and clients.
• Support utility coordination, asset inventories and infrastructure mapping activities.
• Verify accuracy, consistency and completeness of geospatial data received from contractors and stakeholders.
• Manage GIS data standards, metadata and quality‑control procedures.
• Coordinate with land surveyors, engineers and site supervision teams to ensure accurate spatial representation of assets.
• Assist in preparing as‑built GIS records and digital asset databases.
• Perform spatial analysis to support project planning, progress monitoring and decision‑making.
• Develop and implement GIS workflows and data‑management processes.
• Support client reporting requirements and geospatial data submissions throughout delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of GIS experience, preferably on infrastructure projects.
• Mandatory experience working in Saudi Arabia.
• Proven experience with engineering consultancy firms and supporting transportation, roads, highways, utilities and infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical, communication and reporting abilities.
