Head of English Language Arts (American Curriculum)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Head of English Language Arts (ELA) to design and lead a new American high school program in Saudi Arabia. This senior position will shape the curriculum from the ground up, deliver one online course, and mentor a team of hybrid teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Design the Grade 9‑10 ELA curriculum, including units, lesson plans, assessments and homework for a hybrid platform.
• Lead, train and support other ELA teachers in delivering the program.
• Teach one section of online ELA lessons starting in August.
• Continuously adapt and improve instructional materials using EdTech and AI tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine curriculum, delivery methods and learning journeys.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing American high‑school ELA curriculum aligned to CCSS standards.
• Experience teaching English to learners for whom it is a second language.
• Recognized teaching qualification (BA/MA in English, TESOL, CELTA, etc.).
• Native English speaker from an English‑speaking country.
• Reliable internet connection and professional video setup.
