Head of Finance and Tax - Insurance

About the role

Hays has partnered with a growing insurance organisation hiring a Head of Finance and Tax in Riyadh. The role covers financial control, regulatory financial reporting, planning and performance, treasury operations and full ZATCA tax and zakat compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the finance and tax team
• Put the accounting and control framework in place
• Develop a monthly group reporting cycle
• Handle ZATCA compliance covering zakat, corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax and e-invoicing under FATOORA

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Minimum 12 years of progressive finance experience, including 5 years in the Saudi market
• Big 4 audit firm background preferred
• Essential experience in the insurance sector
• Bilingual in Arabic and English, written and spoken

Required skills

• Direct experience of ZATCA compliance (zakat, corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, FATOORA)
• Practical application of IFRS 17 in insurance, including the actuarial interface
• Managing statutory audits and preparing insurance financial statements under IFRS
• Knowledge of implementing finance systems is beneficial
