Hostess – Guest Service & Seating Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and professional Hostess to create a warm first impression for our guests, manage reservations and coordinate seating in our restaurant. The role supports the overall guest experience and contributes to smooth restaurant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly, escort them to tables and present menus.
• Maintain a positive, friendly, and engaging attitude at all times.
• Recognize returning and VIP guests whenever possible.
• Manage reservations and waiting lists using the reservation system, optimizing table allocation.
• Maintain an accurate waiting list and communicate estimated waiting times.
• Coordinate table assignments with the Restaurant Manager and service team.
• Monitor dining‑room occupancy, turnover and table availability.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and handle reservation inquiries via phone, email and online platforms.
• Assist in preparing the restaurant before opening and after closing.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests and complaints, escalating when necessary.
• Gather guest preferences, special requests and support personalized guest experiences.
• Promote restaurant events, special menus and encourage guest feedback.

Required profile

• Diploma in Hospitality or Tourism (advantage).
• Previous experience as a Hostess, Receptionist or Guest Service Agent in a luxury or upscale hotel or restaurant.
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation systems such as SevenRooms, OpenTable or TableCheck.
