Hydrology & Storm Lead Engineer

About the role

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Hydrology & Drainage Lead Engineer to join our team! In this role you will design and support the planning, design, and analysis of advanced storm‑water and flood‑mitigation systems across high‑profile infrastructure and master‑planning projects in the Middle East, with a focus on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment, storm‑water management, and infrastructure design.
• Design storm‑water drainage structures including culverts, bridges, channels, swales, ponds, and storm‑water networks.
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), erosion protection, and flood‑control solutions.
• Perform rainfall and runoff analysis using meteorological and morphological data.
• Utilize industry‑standard hydrology and modelling tools to develop innovative and efficient design solutions.
• Review and ensure the quality and timely delivery of design packages from pre‑concept through to IFC.
• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to integrate drainage systems into wider infrastructure designs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 12+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Proficiency in PC software packages commonly used in hydrology and storm‑drainage design.

Required skills

• Hydrology and hydraulic modelling tools such as HEC‑HMS, HEC‑RAS, WMS, HYFRAN+, InfoWorks ICM.
• Design and GIS tools including Civil 3D, Bentley Suite, ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper, MS Office.
