Industrial Hygiene Technician

About the role

Eram Talent is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician to join its team in Saudi Arabia. The technician supports the implementation and maintenance of industrial hygiene programs so that the workplace remains safe and healthy for all employees. The position is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Industrial Hygienist in implementing and executing the industrial hygiene program.
• Carry out industrial hygiene surveys such as heat stress monitoring, noise surveys, chemical exposure surveys, lighting surveys and ergonomic studies.
• Ensure calibration and operability of industrial hygiene instruments and maintain the inventory of sampling consumables.
• Prepare sampling media and dispatch samples to external analytical laboratories.
• Support the respiratory protection program, including operating the breathing air compressor, respirator fit testing, record keeping and inspection of respirators.
• Maintain and calibrate multi-gas detectors.
• Provide day-to-day support to plant personnel and contractors through PPE assessments, job safety analyses and hazard assessments.
• Take part in compliance audits and conduct formal audits of the industrial hygiene program.

Required profile

• Diploma in Environmental Science, Natural Science, Chemistry Science or higher.
• Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) certification or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience in industrial hygiene within a petrochemical, refining, fertilizer and/or chemical industry.
• Ability to quickly learn OSHA and similar regulations and standards.
• Customer-focused, results-driven, able to work with company and contractor personnel at all levels, with strong self-motivation and confidence.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Use of direct reading instruments such as sound level meters, sampling pumps, multi-gas monitors, Lux meters and photo-ionisation detectors (PIDs).
• Qualitative and quantitative hazard assessment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
