Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

Saipem is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to design, validate, and implement plant instrumentation for major energy and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on optimizing technical performance and cost while ensuring compliance with international regulations and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, check, and define layout for process measuring sensors, actuators, and safety elements.
• Prepare installation drawings, material specifications, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate technical activities with internal specialists and external subcontractors.
• Validate vendor calculations for control valves, safety valves, and measurement devices.
• Develop instrumentation BOQs, MTOs, data sheets, and specifications.
• Support feasibility studies, bidding phases, and cost estimation.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements throughout project execution.

Required profile

• Ability to execute instrumentation tasks while adhering to QA/QC and HSE standards.
• Experience in coordinating insourced and outsourced engineering activities.
• Capability to review client technical documentation and define engineering design basis.

Required skills

• Instrumentation design and layout definition.
• Process sensor and actuator selection.
• Control valve and safety valve sizing calculations.
• P&ID mechanization.
• Preparation of instrumentation data sheets, specifications, BOQs and MTOs.
