Internal Audit and Risk Officer

About the role

Arabian Plastic Industrial Co. (APICO) is looking for a motivated Internal Audit and Risk Officer to support its internal audit function. The role involves executing audit assignments, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing the company’s risk management framework while working closely with business units.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and conduct internal audit assignments according to the annual audit plan.
• Prepare risk and control matrices, audit programs and working papers.
• Evaluate internal controls, identify gaps, document findings and recommend improvements.
• Assist in drafting audit reports and presenting observations to management.
• Follow up on management action plans to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Maintain and update the enterprise risk register and facilitate risk‑assessment workshops.
• Monitor key risk indicators and support the review of risk appetite statements and policies.
• Support governance initiatives, participate in fraud risk assessments and internal investigations.
• Prepare periodic audit and risk dashboards and provide advisory support on new processes and systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in internal audit, risk management, external audit or a similar role.
• Understanding of internal controls, corporate governance and risk‑assessment techniques.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and report‑writing abilities.
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CPA, ACCA or SOCPA are a plus.
