Junior Backend Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to develop, maintain, and support reliable backend applications and services that enable our business capabilities and digital products. You will work within a micro‑services architecture, following established engineering and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into working, tested software.
• Integrate services with databases, internal platforms, and external partner systems.
• Work with event streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka and MQ under guidance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, performing unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
• Apply secure coding practices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Support deployment and monitoring on containerized platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes) via CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and squad ceremonies.
• Assist with production troubleshooting and maintain technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of backend development experience.
• Working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL, and Git.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and debugging fundamentals.
