Junior Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

A Junior Electrical Design Engineer assists in designing, developing, and documenting electrical systems for industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects. The role involves preparing drawings, calculations, specifications, and supporting project execution while ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design of electrical power, lighting, grounding, and control systems.
• Prepare electrical drawings, layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and schematics.
• Perform basic electrical calculations such as load, cable sizing, voltage drop, and short‑circuit analysis.
• Develop equipment and material specifications and support preparation of cable schedules, panel schedules, and bill of materials.
• Review and interpret engineering documents, drawings, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, instrumentation, civil, process).
• Ensure designs comply with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and local regulations.
• Assist in technical reviews, design verification, and site support activities.
• Participate in project meetings and provide engineering support throughout execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0‑3 years of experience in electrical design engineering (fresh graduates encouraged to apply).

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with ETAP, Dialux, or EPLAN engineering software.
• Basic understanding of power distribution systems and electrical protection concepts.
• Ability to perform load, cable sizing, voltage drop, and short‑circuit calculations.
