Junior Repair Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Repair Engineer to join the Rotor Shop team at Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia. The role provides hands‑on experience in repairing and refurbishing gas turbine, steam turbine and compressor components, covering metallurgy, failure investigation and process development.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and support work procedures and standards for component repair and refurbishment.
• Assist in implementing quality policies and preparing/revising Quality Management procedures.
• Support repair process development, qualification and continuous improvement activities.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis for process‑related issues.
• Perform metallurgical examinations using visual inspection, macro photography, microscopy and mechanical testing.
• Collaborate with Materials and Repair Engineering teams to qualify repair processes.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation on project status and results.
• Participate in internal audits and apply statistical techniques.
• Provide training and technical guidance to engineers and supplier vendors.
• Work in accordance with health and safety guidelines while maintaining high‑quality standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
• Good knowledge of engineering materials, especially steels and nickel‑based superalloys.
• Familiarity with laboratory metallurgy, material assessment and mechanical testing.
• Understanding of metallographic preparation techniques and typical mechanical testing methods (tensile, fatigue, stress rupture).
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to write clear technical reports and work effectively under pressure.
