Kitchen Technician

About the role

FAENA The Red Sea is looking for a proactive Kitchen Technician to join its Engineering team. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of all commercial kitchen equipment across the resort’s culinary facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on all commercial kitchen equipment to minimise downtime.
• Diagnose and repair faults on cooking, refrigeration, dishwashing, and food‑preparation equipment.
• Maintain ovens, grills, fryers, steamers, combi ovens, refrigeration units, ice machines and ware‑washing equipment.
• Inspect and service kitchen exhaust systems, fans and grease‑filtration equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, gas and refrigeration issues.
• Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of new kitchen equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to limit operational disruption.
• Coordinate specialised repairs with external contractors and manufacturers.
• Monitor gas systems, safety devices and ensure compliance with HACCP, health, fire and engineering standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders and equipment history in the CMMS.
• Support spare‑parts inventory management and collaborate with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage teams.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Technician or similar engineering role in a hotel, resort or commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, gas systems and electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programmes and CMMS usage.
• Good understanding of HACCP, food safety and health & safety regulations.
