Kitchen Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Technician ensures that all commercial kitchen equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably across the hotel. This role supports uninterrupted Food & Beverage service by maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all kitchen appliances and equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain cooking, refrigeration, heating, and food‑preparation equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and basic plumbing faults related to kitchen gear.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns to minimise disruption.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify defects, wear, or potential failures.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of new kitchen equipment.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Food & Beverage teams regarding equipment availability.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor spare‑part inventories and report replenishment needs.
• Support energy‑conservation and equipment‑efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or vocational qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, or a related field.
• Previous experience maintaining commercial kitchen equipment.

Required skills

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of commercial kitchen appliances.
• Electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Basic plumbing troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of ovens, ranges, grills, fryers, dishwashers, ice machines, refrigerators, and freezers.
