Kitchen Technician – Maintenance & Repairs

About the role

The Hotel is seeking a skilled Kitchen Technician to handle maintenance and repair requests throughout the property. Working on‑site in Makkah, you will ensure all kitchen equipment and related facilities operate safely and efficiently, supporting guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Respond promptly to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication and visual inspections of tools, equipment and machinery.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves; carry necessary tools and radios while on duty.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and log daily activities for shift hand‑over.
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing, HVAC and other systems.
• Execute complex repairs on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, air‑conditioning, refrigeration and pool‑heater equipment in compliance with company standards and local codes.
• Troubleshoot and replace pumps, motors, switches, outlets, lamps, HVAC units, kitchen appliances and other hotel assets.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Use engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance, energy management and building‑management systems.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer‑on‑Duty duties, including rounds and readings.
• Follow all safety, security and environmental policies, reporting hazards and storing flammable materials correctly.

Required profile

• Ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics related to plumbing and HVAC.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry and kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout and personal protective equipment.
• Capability to work independently, communicate effectively with guests and coordinate with shift teams.
