L2 Operation & Support Engineer – DevOps (GCP/Kubernetes)

About the role

As a DevOps Engineer for Thales CDI/MCS products On‑Demand Connectivity (ODC) and eUICC IoT Manager (eIM), you will design, build, maintain and optimise mission‑critical cloud‑native systems. You will ensure the solutions are reliable, scalable and performant for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and automate infrastructure using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) principles and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.
• Install, configure and manage Kubernetes‑based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Own production systems with a “you build it, you run it” mindset, handling monitoring, observability and incident response to meet SLA commitments.
• Act as a technical bridge between development, validation and customers, providing 24/7 onsite support and participating in Change Advisory Board reviews.
• Prepare technical documentation, customer acceptance plans and operational readiness reviews to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of experience in systems administration, solutions delivery or integration engineering, with exposure to ITSM processes (incident, change, problem, SLA).
• Advanced experience with public cloud (preferably GCP), Kubernetes, container orchestration and GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong Linux administration (minimum 3 years) and networking knowledge (IPv4, subnetting, TCP/IP, routing).

• Cassandra and MySQL databases.
• eSIM technologies (SGP22/32) and Java (preferred).
