Lab Equipment Maintenance Specialist - Workshop & Hydraulics

About the role

Eram Talent is seeking a Lab Equipment Maintenance Specialist to provide expert maintenance, repair and calibration services for laboratory research equipment in Riyadh. The specialist focuses on cooling systems, growth chambers, autoclaves and glass washers to keep equipment running with minimal downtime, and also mentors junior staff and delivers user training.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reactive and preventive maintenance and repairs on lab equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with end-users and vendors
• Build relationships with manufacturers to obtain support and training
• Identify spare parts needs and help manage inventory
• Train lab users on equipment use and maintenance
• Maintain compliance with safety policies and promote safe work practices
• Take part in professional development and team collaboration
• Travel up to 10% for training and external support

Required profile

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HVACR or a related technical field
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience maintaining lab and refrigeration equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs
• Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, with a focus on hydraulics
• Experience with technologies such as ultra-low temperature freezers, glassware washers, chillers, heaters, ovens, heat exchangers, press machines and ovens
• Familiarity with laboratory safety standards and best practices
• Effective communication with engineering and lab personnel
• A relevant technical degree or certification in mechanics, hydraulics or a related field

Required skills

• Hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting of lab and refrigeration equipment
• Knowledge of equipment from manufacturers such as Buchi, CLF Plant Climatics, Systec, GE, Labconco, Liebherr, Smeg, Panasonic, Peak, Percival and Thermo-Fisher is highly desirable
• Experience with calibration and validation procedures is a plus
