Lead Accountant

About the role

The Lead Accountant is an experienced professional responsible for overseeing complex accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in vendor payments, payroll, and bank transactions while supporting junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Record accounting transactions and journal entries for accounts payable and payroll in line with standards.
• Review invoices, match them with approved purchase orders, investigate inconsistencies and escalate issues.
• Monitor vendor accounts, maintain payment schedules, and adhere to service level agreements.
• Reconcile ZATCA payroll data, identify deviations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and process bank transfer requests and other payment documents.
• Handle daily bank transactions and ensure timely reconciliation.
• Process payments for invoices, payroll, benefits, pensions, and staff rewards accurately.
• Reconcile and replenish petty cash according to approved budgets.
• Follow policies, procedures, and SOPs to maintain controlled operations.
• Support junior staff, solve escalated problems, and escalate complex issues when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proven ability to work with general directions and resolve analytical challenges.
