Lead Construction & Pre‑Commissioning Engineer

About the role

Wood is seeking a Lead Construction & Pre‑Commissioning Engineer to support the development of a new gold mine and processing facility at a remote site in Saudi Arabia. The role combines on‑site construction oversight with pre‑startup and commissioning activities, ensuring the project meets safety, quality and schedule targets.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction execution plans, schedules and method statements.
• Monitor on‑site construction progress, contractor performance and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Resolve technical queries, manage field changes and update as‑built documentation.
• Coordinate interfaces among multiple contractors and stakeholders for seamless execution.
• Oversee mechanical completion, punch‑list closure and support commissioning and pre‑startup phases.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction and pre‑commissioning of large‑scale industrial or mining projects.
• Ability to work on a remote site and manage multiple contractors.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality and regulatory requirements in the construction sector.
