Lead Cost Engineer

About the role

Hill International is seeking a Lead Cost Engineer to drive cost optimisation across large‑scale infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. You will guide a team of cost engineers, embed cost‑engineering best practices, and ensure financial discipline throughout project lifecycles.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and coordinate a team of cost engineers, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Develop and apply cost‑engineering strategies, methodologies and standards for infrastructure projects.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor pricing.
• Analyse designs, specifications and contracts to flag cost implications and propose savings.
• Monitor project budgets, track cost variances and implement corrective actions.
• Produce and present cost reports, forecasts and financial analyses to stakeholders.
• Integrate cost‑engineering inputs into overall project planning and decision‑making.
• Stay current with industry trends, new technologies and cost‑saving techniques.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in cost engineering, preferably on PMC infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record as a Lead Cost Engineer or senior cost‑engineering role.
• Strong leadership, mentorship and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
