Lead Design Engineer - Chiller

About the role

The Lead Design Engineer – Chiller will drive the design and manufacturing of new chiller and data‑center cooling solutions. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee product development from concept through validation, ensuring technical excellence and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and manufacturing activities for new chiller and data‑center projects.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and include SQ options for each new product.
• Develop costing models and maintain target pricing (TP) to meet profitability goals.
• Monitor unit costs and control them to sustain gross profit standards.
• Issue controlled nesting and bending drawings for component fabrication.
• Define and track R&D Key Performance Indicators.
• Create catalogue and IOM data for product releases.
• Address technical queries from marketing and other internal teams.
• Provide input data for selection software tools.
• Plan and execute testing and validation of new products.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in chillers or data‑center cooling.
• Proven ability to manage full product development cycles.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong competence with CAD software for detailed engineering drawings.
