Lead Mechanical Engineer – Mechanical EGS

About the role

Bechtel is launching its new Energy office in Al‑Khobar, Saudi Arabia and is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive the delivery of oil, gas, chemical and new‑energy projects that support Vision 2030. The role will be based on‑site, working with global experts to build a high‑performance team from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities across studies, FEED, PMC and detailed design for energy transition, decarbonisation, e‑fuel, hydrogen and petrochemical projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical solutions meet client goals and project specifications.
• Provide technical mentorship, oversee design reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Support project execution from concept through construction, leveraging Bechtel’s global execution network.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mechanical engineering for oil, gas, chemical or new‑energy projects.
• Proven leadership skills in managing engineering teams and delivering complex projects.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work with international stakeholders.
