Lead Production Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Production Engineer to head a team of production engineers responsible for the fabrication, welding and assembly of oil & gas, petrochemical and water‑treatment packages. The role ensures technical execution aligns with drawings, WPS, Aramco and international codes while driving productivity, quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and mentor production engineers across all fabrication areas.
• Translate drawings and specifications into detailed job packs, cutting and fit‑up plans, and sequence production activities.
• Guarantee compliance with approved WPS/PQR and relevant codes (Aramco, ASME, API, AWS) and review method statements, ITPs and calculations.
• Monitor progress, productivity and rework; resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Interface with QC for inspection stages, NDT and dimensional control.
• Support man‑hour estimation, material take‑off, planning and costing.
• Enforce HSE requirements and safe execution methods.
• Lead 5S, Lean and continuous‑improvement initiatives and report technical status to the Production Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a world‑class, Aramco‑tier fabrication environment.
• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Certifications: CSWIP, AWS‑CWI, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, NEBOSH (mandatory); PMP preferred.
• Proven track record delivering first‑time‑right quality, high productivity and zero‑incident performance.
• Strong knowledge of digital engineering/production systems and WCM/Lean methodologies.
