Lead Production Engineer

About the role

WETICO is looking for a Lead Production Engineer to head a team of production engineers in Riyadh. The role oversees the technical execution of fabrication, welding and assembly for oil & gas, petrochemical and water‑treatment packages, ensuring compliance with drawings, welding procedures, Aramco and international codes while driving productivity and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and mentor production engineers across all fabrication areas.
• Translate drawings and specifications into executable job packs, cutting and fit‑up plans, and sequence production activities.
• Ensure welding and fabrication follow approved WPS/PQR and Aramco/ASME/API/AWS codes; prepare and review method statements, ITPs and technical calculations.
• Monitor progress, productivity and rework; resolve technical execution issues and implement corrective actions.
• Interface with QC on inspection stages, NDT and dimensional control.
• Support man‑hour estimation and material take‑off for planning and costing.
• Enforce HSE requirements and safe execution methods.
• Drive 5S, Lean and continuous improvement on production lines and report technical progress to the Production Manager.
• Perform any additional duties assigned within the scope of the role.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a world‑class/Aramco‑tier fabrication environment, including complex projects.
• Expertise in digital engineering, production systems and WCM/Lean methodologies.
• Proven delivery against KPIs such as first‑time‑right quality, productivity and zero‑incident performance.
• Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Mandatory certifications: CSWIP, AWS‑CWI, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and NEBOSH; PMP preferred.
