Logistics Officer

About the role

Yokogawa is seeking a Logistics Officer to manage supplier tracking, ensure timely deliveries, and support the company’s cash conversion cycle. The role involves handling letters of credit, liquidated damages, and complex import‑export requirements across the Middle East and Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Track suppliers and guarantee on‑time delivery in line with company commitments.
• Manage orders with Letters of Credit (LC) or Liquidated Damage (LD) clauses, ensuring document submission to banks without extra cost.
• Coordinate import/export clearance, adhering to regional regulations (ESMA/ECAS, COC, SABER, TRA, MOFAIC, etc.) and obtain necessary ministry approvals.
• Prepare and maintain all logistical documentation required by customer contracts, customs, and VAT authorities.
• Negotiate freight forwarder rates to optimise shipping costs and arrange shipments according to project needs.
• Apply the latest ICC Incoterms‑2020 for every shipment and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
• Share customs updates and regulatory changes with sales and project teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Maintain accurate records for all import and export movements.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of import/export clearance processes and regulations in the Middle East & Africa.
• Experience handling LC and LD documentation and ensuring timely bank submissions.
• Ability to optimise cash conversion cycles through efficient logistics management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience using SAP for logistics operations.
• Familiarity with ICC Incoterms‑2020.
