About the role
We are looking for an experienced Marketing Communications Manager to join a high‑profile international sporting event in Riyadh on a fixed‑term contract until 1 March 2027. The role will lead the development and execution of the event’s communications strategy, strengthening brand presence and engaging audiences locally, regionally and internationally.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive integrated marketing communications strategy aligned with the event’s objectives, audience segments, and brand positioning.
- Lead planning and execution of communication campaigns across the full project lifecycle, from announcement and build‑up phases through event delivery and post‑event reporting.
- Define brand messaging frameworks, campaign narratives, and content strategies to ensure consistency across all channels and stakeholder groups.
- Manage relationships with creative, PR, media buying, digital, and production agencies, ensuring high‑quality delivery against timelines and budgets.
- Oversee multi‑channel communications across digital, social media, broadcast, print, PR, influencer marketing, and experiential activations.
- Collaborate closely with commercial, sponsorship, operations, and stakeholder management teams to align communications with wider project objectives.
- Develop media engagement strategies, oversee press activities, and support reputation management initiatives.
- Monitor campaign performance, audience engagement, and media coverage, using data‑driven insights to optimise communications effectiveness.
- Manage communication budgets, timelines, approvals, and reporting processes.
Required profile
- 5–8 years of experience in marketing communications, integrated marketing, brand strategy, public relations or related disciplines.
- Proven track record delivering large‑scale, high‑profile campaigns, preferably in sports, events, entertainment, tourism, culture or government‑led initiatives.
- Agency experience is highly preferred, with strong stakeholder and client management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both Arabic and English.
- Strong understanding of the Saudi market, media landscape, consumer behaviour and cultural sensitivities.
- Experience working in complex, fast‑paced environments with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands‑on execution.
