Material Management Specialist

About the role

Air Products is seeking a Material Management Specialist to partner with Operations & Maintenance teams in overseeing spare parts and consumables inventory for its industrial facilities. The role focuses on balancing plant costs with equipment availability while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient warehouse operations using SAP.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all company and industry safety processes.
• Build and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM) in SAP, including data entry and storage location management.
• Determine optimal spare‑parts levels based on local availability and business needs.
• Set up and manage zone stores, provide warehouse support during plant commissioning, and ensure accurate inventory control.
• Coordinate warehouse input for scheduled outages and support overall construction and commissioning activities.
• Optimize stock levels, manage inbound/outbound shipments, and oversee stock replacement and inventory check programs.
• Arrange emergency transport with vendors and supervise warehouse contractors.
• Provide training on hard‑goods inventory management methods and SAP transactions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and EH&S regulations.

Required profile

• Experience working closely with Operations & Maintenance teams in an industrial setting.
• Ability to balance inventory costs with equipment availability requirements.
• Strong understanding of warehouse best practices and safety standards.
• Proactive approach to supporting construction, commissioning, and outage planning.
