Mechanical & Electrical Technician – Power Generation

About the role

Al-Watania Poultry is seeking a skilled Mechanical/Electrical Technician to support its power generation operations. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable performance of diesel generators and related mechanical and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot diesel engines and generator issues.
• Repair or replace damaged parts, perform complete overhauls of engines, cylinder heads, lube oil pumps, water pumps, fuel pumps, and injectors.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on diesel engines and generators.
• Install, adjust, modify, and troubleshoot AVR systems, exciters, and generator/ATS controllers (PCC, Deep Sea, ComAp, etc.).
• Test current, voltage, and generator output to verify proper operation.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of new generators.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and operational activities.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Support emergency breakdown maintenance and troubleshooting on site.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent in Power Generation, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in diesel generator maintenance and repair.
• Ability to work independently, under pressure, and travel up to 90% of the time.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays as required.
