Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems for a major infrastructure project in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering high‑quality piping, HVAC/ducting and pumping solutions in a challenging desert environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations and specifications for piping networks, HVAC/ducting systems and pumping stations.
• Provide on‑site technical support to ensure installations comply with project design, international codes (ASME, ASHRAE) and client standards.
• Evaluate vendor bids and equipment for pumps, valves, piping materials and HVAC units to ensure quality and compliance.
• Witness and certify pressure testing, duct balancing and performance testing of pumps and hydraulic systems.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical and structural teams to resolve design conflicts and minimise field delays.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of mechanical engineering experience, focusing on piping, ducting and pump systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; PE or Chartered Engineer status is a plus.
• Willingness to relocate and work full‑time in the Tabuk region.
• Experience on large‑scale infrastructure or mega‑projects in Saudi Arabia is highly preferred.
• Fluent English with strong technical writing and client interaction skills.

Required skills

• Piping network design and stress analysis.
• HVAC and ductwork design, static pressure calculations.
• Pumping station design and pump hydraulics.
• Fluid mechanics fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Caesar II, Pipenet, AutoCAD or Revit.
• Knowledge of ASME and ASHRAE codes.
