Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to lead the installation, inspection and commissioning of mechanical equipment on the Ar Rjum gold mining project in Saudi Arabia. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality, and aligning work with the overall project schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise installation, inspection, alignment, preservation, testing and commissioning of static and rotating equipment according to specifications, OEM requirements and applicable codes.
• Oversee installation of major mining and process plant equipment including crushers, SAG mills, ball mills, conveyors, screens, apron feeders, pressure vessels, filters, compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes and pumps.
• Supervise equipment setting activities such as foundation verification, sole‑plate installation, shimming, leveling, grout work, anchor‑bolt tensioning and torque control.
• Coordinate heavy‑lifting operations using crawler cranes, mobile cranes and strand‑jacks.
• Ensure subcontractor planning, safety, quality and technical activities are integrated with the overall project schedule.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising mechanical installation on large‑scale mining or process‑plant projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety, quality and technical standards in a multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and codes.
• Effective communication with subcontractor management and project teams.

Required skills

• Installation, inspection and alignment of static and rotating equipment.
• Heavy‑lifting coordination with crawler and mobile cranes.
• Experience with crushers, SAG mills, ball mills, conveyors, screens, apron feeders, pressure vessels, filters, compressors, blowers, fans, gearboxes, pumps and couplings.
• Foundation verification, shimming, leveling, grout installation, anchor‑bolt tensioning and torque control.
