Mechanical Supervisor

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company covering the plant industry from feasibility studies through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and O&M, is hiring a Mechanical Supervisor in Jubail. The role supervises and supports subcontractors so that construction proceeds effectively according to project specifications and under safe conditions, following drawings and the work schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review drawings and PNDIDs and prepare site instructions, materials and tools for each job.
• Deal with subcontractors on work schedules and coordinate with inspectors for mechanical inspections.
• Monitor the performance, failures and serviceability of mechanical plant, control systems and equipment and report on activities.
• Assess technical proposals for mechanical upgrades or new equipment and their process integration.
• Plan and coordinate work activities, check daily, weekly and monthly quantities, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Prepare method statements (M/S), best practice and lessons learned records, and a 3-week construction plan.
• Ensure safe conditions with the safety department and construction quality in line with project specs and the ITP.
• Manage interfaces with other disciplines, external stakeholders and the client, and coordinate with auditors, regulators and third parties.

Required profile

• Construction experience as a supervisor in oil/gas/petrochemical or power plants.
• Preferred: experience in a Middle Eastern engineering and construction company, and from construction stage through commissioning/start-up.
• Knowledge of construction management and engineering standards, and of rotating, stationary and tank equipment, heavy rigging and package vendor items.
• Knowledge of commissioning mechanical works (MRT, solo run test, oil flushing) and of ITP review and rigging and lifting plans.
• Computer skills (MS Office) and excellent communication and leadership qualities.
