Mechanical Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our plant operations team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical equipment. The role involves performing preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on turbines, compressors, pumps, valves and associated auxiliary systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive, predictive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on assigned mechanical equipment.
• Carry out daily inspections, running checks and maintenance checklists according to approved schedules.
• Monitor equipment condition, report abnormalities, non‑conformances and developing defects.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures using approved tools, drawings, manuals and diagnostic techniques.
• Dismantle, inspect, clean, repair, replace, re‑assemble, align and functionally test mechanical components.
• Replace defective parts such as bearings, seals, gaskets, O‑rings, couplings, bolts, filters, belts and lubrication‑system components.
• Perform adjustments, lubrication, oil top‑up, oil changes and cleaning activities per procedures.
• Identify and report corrosion, cracks, leaks, overheating, vibration, abnormal noise, mis‑alignment, loose bolts and damaged insulation.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and restore it after maintenance tasks.
• Support maintenance of equipment including Siemens 9000HL gas turbine auxiliaries, steam turbine auxiliaries, HRSG, various pumps, compressors, fans, valves and water‑treatment systems.
• Conduct inspections, condition assessments and use diagnostic tools such as vibration meters, infrared thermometers and laser alignment devices.
• Record inspection findings, test readings, equipment condition, defects and maintenance actions.
• Assist in root‑cause analysis of equipment failures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or power‑plant environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and schematics.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Commitment to safety procedures and accurate documentation.

Required skills

• Use of vibration meters for condition monitoring.
• Infrared thermometers for temperature assessment.
• Laser alignment tools for precise equipment alignment.
• Dial gauges, feeler gauges, torque wrenches, pressure gauges, vernier calipers and micrometers for measurement and inspection.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair of rotating equipment.
• Preventive maintenance and routine inspection techniques.
