Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Technician will join a multicultural maintenance team responsible for the reliability of plant mechanical equipment. Working under the guidance of the Mechanical Engineer, you will carry out fault investigations, preventive maintenance and equipment modifications to maximise plant availability.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate mechanical faults, perform corrective repairs and implement preventive maintenance according to OEM manuals and work instructions.
• Execute work orders in the CMMS, ensuring all documentation, permits and method statements are completed and signed.
• Support 24‑hour plant operation by being available for short‑notice call‑outs and reducing equipment downtime.
• Maintain and verify the availability and condition of tools and equipment required for each job.
• Report all maintenance activities and outcomes to the Mechanical Foreman/Engineer and participate in planning meetings.

Required profile

• Ability to work safely in a plant environment, following permit‑to‑work and HSE procedures.
• Willingness to be on‑call for emergency repairs and to collaborate with a diverse team.
• Attention to detail in completing records, reports and tool inventories.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of rotating and static equipment.
• Use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Interpretation of OEM manuals and technical work instructions.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools for mechanical work.
