MEP Design Manager

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead the design, coordination and integration of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems across hospitality and leisure projects. The role spans the full project lifecycle, from concept through construction, and involves managing both internal teams and external consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the MEP design process across concept, schematic, detailed design and construction phases.
• Coordinate architectural, structural and MEP disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs.
• Review and approve MEP design documents, calculations, specifications and drawings for quality, accuracy and compliance.
• Manage external MEP consultants and internal teams to meet project goals and timelines.
• Ensure designs comply with local codes, international standards and sustainability requirements.
• Oversee design submissions, technical reports and authority approvals.
• Facilitate design workshops, technical meetings and value‑engineering sessions.
• Provide technical input during tender reviews, supplier evaluations and support procurement.
• Resolve technical issues during construction and support site implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 10‑15 years of MEP design and coordination experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Proven delivery of large‑scale hospitality or leisure projects (hotels, resorts, entertainment venues).
• Previous PMC experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, codes and standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP.
• Experience with Navisworks for clash detection.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and clash detection platforms.
