Mining Supervisor – Lead Operations at Mine Site

About the role

The Mining Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all mining activities at a designated site, ensuring safe and efficient extraction of ore. Reporting to the Superintendent, the role leads a team of operators, coordinates with planning and engineering, and drives production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise drilling, blasting, loading, hauling and dumping to meet daily, weekly and monthly production goals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and SOP regulations through inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Provide leadership, assign tasks, monitor performance and coach mining crews.
• Collaborate with mine planning and engineering to implement mine plans, optimise pit designs and sequence activities.
• Monitor equipment performance, coordinate maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and infrastructure, identifying hazards and improvement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate production records, shift reports and equipment logs for management and regulatory review.
• Liaise with geology, processing and maintenance departments to coordinate ore delivery and equipment scheduling.
• Control operating costs by managing consumables, fuel usage and labour resources.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology or a related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in open‑pit or underground mining operations.
• At least 2‑3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Strong understanding of mine planning principles, ore reserve estimation and grade control.
• Proficiency with mine safety regulations and risk management.
