Natural Resources Consultant

About the role

Euro Group Engineering Consultancy is looking for a Natural Resources Consultant to lead environmental and ecological advisory services for coastal remediation projects. You will be responsible for field monitoring, data analysis, and the preparation of technical reports that support long‑term ecological recovery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct and lead field surveys and ecological monitoring of flora, fauna, intertidal and near‑shore habitats.
• Design sampling programs, oversee collection of soil, sediment, biota and water samples, and ensure chain‑of‑custody and QA/QC.
• Analyze environmental and biological data, interpret results and produce technical memoranda and final reports.
• Advise on habitat protection, restoration and conservation measures, contributing to Best Management Practices and HSSE controls.
• Provide ecological input for remedial design, including sensitive area mapping and planting recommendations.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, laboratories, sub‑consultants and field teams.
• Prepare GIS layers, maps and photographic documentation for project deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology or a related field (post‑graduate preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in environmental projects and field monitoring.
• Demonstrated experience in coastal/intertidal ecology, habitat assessment or wildlife monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, permitting and conservation best practices.

Required skills

• Ecological survey techniques such as transects, quadrats, benthic cores and rapid ecological assessments.
• Understanding of environmental chemistry indicators (TPH, PAH) and laboratory result interpretation.
• Proficiency in GIS mapping and spatial data management.
• Environmental data analysis and technical report writing.
• Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with statistical or survey data tools is an advantage.
