Onshore Wind EPC Senior Project Manager – Japan (Relocation Opportunity)

About the role

This senior position will lead the full lifecycle delivery of utility‑scale onshore wind projects in Japan, from late‑stage development through construction, commissioning and handover. Based in Tokyo, the role requires regular travel to project sites across the country and offers relocation support for expatriate candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end EPC project delivery for onshore wind assets
• Manage EPC contractors and subcontractors during construction and installation phases
• Oversee project schedule, budget and cash‑flow to ensure timely, on‑budget delivery
• Drive contract management activities including RFQs, variation orders, claims and reporting
• Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement and commercial teams
• Maintain stakeholder relationships with local authorities, lenders and project partners
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, implementing recovery plans when needed
• Ensure compliance with HSE, quality and regulatory requirements throughout execution
• Support commissioning activities and handover to operations teams

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Strong experience delivering utility‑scale onshore wind projects
• Proven background in EPC project management within renewable energy or infrastructure
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers and multi‑site construction environments
• Solid understanding of project controls, including schedule, cost and risk management
• Experience handling contracts, claims and commercial aspects of EPC projects
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across internal and external parties
• Ability to operate in a fast‑paced, site‑driven environment
