Operations Center Operator

About the role

The Operations Center Operator is responsible for managing daily shift schedules, monitoring water transmission pipelines, and consolidating operational reports to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and adjust shift operation schedules based on demand forecasts, system capacity, and maintenance plans.
• Monitor pipelines, conduct capacity‑gap analyses, and allocate internal or external resources accordingly.
• Investigate encroachments, shutdowns, and performance variances, and implement mitigation plans.
• Coordinate activities between the Central Control Room (CCR) and Local Control Rooms (LCR) to maintain compliance with standards.
• Consolidate operation, accident, and shutdown reports; analyse schedule efficiency and performance.
• Assess water quality, cooling systems, and pump oil system performance to identify gaps.
• Compare forecasted versus actual water consumption, capture lessons learned, and support future forecasting.
• Support planning and design of rehabilitation and replacement projects for transmission equipment.
• Resolve complex issues escalated from CCR or LCR without interrupting operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in a technical field or a related discipline.
