Operations Duty Manager

About the role

The Operations Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing daily airport activities across airside, landside, and terminal zones during assigned shifts. Acting as the senior on‑duty authority, this role ensures safety, security, operational continuity, and high service standards while serving as the primary escalation point for incidents and emergencies.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate terminal, landside, and airside operations throughout the shift.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety regulations, and service standards.
• Serve as the senior on‑duty contact for all airport stakeholders.
• Respond to disruptions, incidents, or emergencies, providing timely resolution or escalation.
• Conduct routine inspections of terminal areas, ramp, apron, and landside facilities.
• Adjust resources and operations in case of flight delays, diversions, or cancellations.
• Monitor airport systems, lead shift handovers, and document key operational issues.
• Prepare and submit detailed shift reports to senior management.
• Support implementation of the airport’s safety and security management systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Airport Management, Aviation, or a related field (or a diploma with extensive experience).
• Minimum 5 years of airport operations experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or duty‑management role.
• Fluent Arabic and professional English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AODB, FIDS, RMS, and other airport operational systems.
• Knowledge of ICAO, IATA, and local regulatory standards (e.g., GACA).
• Strong understanding of airport procedures, emergency planning, and customer service.
• Computer literacy in MS Office and incident‑reporting tools.
