Operations & Maintenance & Handover Manager - Rail

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm active in the Middle East, is hiring a full-time Operations & Maintenance & Handover Manager for rail in Riyadh. The role oversees operations and maintenance of rail infrastructure, manages maintenance schedules and handovers, leads maintenance teams and ensures compliance with Saudi rail regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all operations and maintenance activities for rail infrastructure, ensuring adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements and operational excellence.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and preventative maintenance programmes to optimise asset performance and minimise downtime.
• Lead and manage handover processes for rail systems, assets and facilities, ensuring thorough documentation.
• Direct and mentor maintenance teams on technical procedures, safety protocols and performance expectations.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors to complete maintenance and operational tasks on time.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, asset conditions and handover documentation for compliance and audit.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Manage stakeholder communications on operational status, maintenance schedules and handover milestones.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian rail regulations, industry standards and organisational policies.
• Prepare and manage budgets for maintenance operations and resource allocation.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate induction and training programmes for new operational and maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in rail operations and maintenance management.
• Proven experience managing asset handovers and transition projects.
• Strong people management and team leadership skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-keeping abilities.
