Operations Manager – Equipment Operations

About the role

The Operations Manager will oversee daily equipment operations across multiple construction sites, ensuring that equipment is available, productive, and aligned with project schedules. This role combines leadership, resource management, and cost control to support timely construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and control daily equipment operations on all project sites.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the equipment operations team.
• Monitor equipment deployment, availability, and productivity, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule inspections, servicing, and repairs to minimise downtime.
• Control operational costs related to equipment use, fuel, labour, and repairs, and propose cost‑saving initiatives.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations for equipment movement and operation.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, performance, and issues.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
• Coordinate with project, planning, and procurement teams to align equipment needs with timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising equipment operations in a construction environment.
• Strong leadership and team‑development abilities.
• Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards for equipment.
• Ability to analyse and control operational costs.
• Excellent organizational and reporting skills.
