Painter

About the role

The Painter is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional condition of the hotel’s interior surfaces, including walls, ceilings, floors, woodwork, and furniture. This role ensures all public areas remain presentable and complies with safety and fire regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repaint walls, ceilings, floors, woodwork, and furniture to hotel standards.
• Inspect public areas regularly and keep them presentable.
• Use appropriate ladders and scaffolding, cover work areas, and display caution signs.
• Cap fire detectors during painting to prevent false alarms and remove caps after completion.
• Keep work areas clean and ensure safe disposal of paint tins, drums, and other combustible materials.
• Assist the Engineering Supervisor with ordering special paints, polishes, and monitoring stock movements.
• Participate in monthly inventory of operating equipment and attend departmental meetings.
• Support the Hotel Fire Team and be fully trained in emergency/fire procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Thorough knowledge of various paints, oils, and polishes.
• Ability to order required items and manage inventory.
• Experience with decorative ceramic tile fixing, wall plastering, concrete mixing, shuttering, road paving tile installation, silicone and grout work.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe workshop and adhering to fire safety protocols.
