Patient Care Technician

About the role

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides essential support to nursing staff and acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and families. Working within a clinical setting, the PCT ensures smooth patient flow, prepares equipment, and assists with basic nursing procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain clinic readiness, cleanliness, and supply inventory daily.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and set up required equipment.
• Coordinate patient flow, complete documentation (claims, referrals), and track patient status for labs and radiology.
• Handle admissions, referrals, telephone inquiries, and visitor questions courteously.
• Adhere to JCIA/CBAHI safety standards, infection control, privacy policies, and emergency protocols.
• Perform nursing‑level tasks within scope: vital signs, pulse oximetry, weight/height, glucose checks, ECG, and pain assessments.
• Provide patient and family education, guide patients to investigation areas, and participate in person‑centered care initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• Successful completion of a Patient Care Technician program.
• Preferably some healthcare experience; fresh graduates with interest are also considered.
• Valid Saudi Council license and BLS certification.

Required skills

• Vital signs monitoring.

• Glucose (glucometry) testing.
• ECG acquisition and interpretation.
• Accurate patient documentation.
