People Operations Manager

About the role

The People Operations Manager leads the recruitment, training, and compliance functions for the organization, ensuring that hiring practices attract qualified talent and that employee development is maximized. This role also oversees payroll and benefits administration while maintaining adherence to federal and state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Instruct management staff on effective recruiting and interviewing techniques, including verbal presentations and written directions.
• Conduct initial interviews for all positions and analyze recruitment sources to ensure qualified hires.
• Meet with external agencies to maintain affirmative action compliance and keep applicant tracking up to date.
• Monitor team member development and oversee the implementation, administration, and monitoring of all training programs.
• Facilitate training classes, review current methods, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state HR regulations, implement new procedures, and supervise the hotel’s affirmative action plan.
• Manage payroll, wage, and benefits programs, ensuring accurate and equitable administration.

Required profile

• Strong ability to interact effectively with team members and employee representatives, handling conflicts with patience and diplomacy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for preparing official memoranda and providing clear guidance.
• Thorough knowledge of human resources practices, procedures, and relevant state and federal laws.
• Basic mathematical skills for salary and benefit calculations and forecasting departmental expenses.
• Proficiency in typing and using computer systems for HR administration.
