Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Pharmacy Purchasing Specialist manages the procurement of pharmaceuticals, medical consumables and related supplies to ensure continuous inventory availability across the hospital. The role supports cost‑effective purchasing, supplier coordination, inventory optimisation and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Procure pharmaceuticals, medical consumables and related supplies in line with hospital requirements and approved procurement procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with pharmacy and clinical departments to guarantee timely availability of medications and supplies.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, place purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and monitor supplier performance, pricing and product availability.
• Ensure compliance with hospital procurement policies, pharmaceutical regulations and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in pharmacy purchasing, pharmaceutical procurement, supply chain or a related field.
• Healthcare or hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement, inventory management and healthcare supply‑chain processes is an advantage.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
