Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer will support the delivery of construction projects by applying project management and scheduling tools to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget. You will work closely with client representatives, subcontractors, and internal teams to monitor progress, manage risks, and drive performance improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and other performance measurement techniques.
• Coordinate change management, assessing time and cost impacts.
• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules to meet all milestones.
• Ensure compliance with project control procedures, timelines, and quality standards.
• Interface with clients on performance, risks, and scheduling matters.
• Monitor project progress, identify variances, and propose mitigation measures.
• Oversee subcontractor, supplier, and internal team activities.
• Prepare project budgets and deliver monthly cost‑management reports.
• Support cost control by tracking budgets, commitments, and expenditures.
• Validate actual progress with site supervision teams and forecast completion dates.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction supervision or related engineering roles.
• Background with reputable engineering or consulting firms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Membership in the Saudi Council of Engineers or a comparable local engineering body.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Primavera scheduling software.
• Experience using Microsoft Project.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform Earned Value Analysis.
