Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive schedules for EPC projects, ensuring timely delivery of engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning activities. This role supports project management with critical path analysis, progress monitoring and commercial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed EPC project schedules using Primavera P6, including baseline, recovery and look‑ahead plans.
• Monitor project progress against approved schedules, perform critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions to mitigate delays.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S‑curves and resource histograms for management and client submissions.
• Track productivity, resource utilization and key performance indicators, maintaining all planning records and documentation.
• Coordinate material procurement, manufacturing, inspection, shipment and site delivery milestones, forecasting material requirements in line with the schedule.
• Monitor vendor and subcontractor deliverables against contractual milestones and support timely mobilization.
• Prepare cost summaries, mobilization estimates and techno‑commercial reports to monitor financial performance.
• Assist in cash‑flow forecasting, cost‑to‑complete monitoring, change management, delay analysis and Extension of Time evaluations.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE and commercial teams to keep schedules current and identify risks.
• Participate in progress review meetings with stakeholders such as SEC, National Grid, subcontractors and other project partners.
