Planning Officer

About the role

The Planning Officer supports the execution of construction and project management initiatives by preparing planning data, monitoring progress, and ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget. Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Quantity Surveyor and Planning Engineers, the role contributes to cost control, resource allocation and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update planning data for weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Generate manpower and material procurement reports aligned with the approved program.
• Maintain project files and input data into planning software and Excel spreadsheets.
• Develop and apply innovative planning tools and techniques while adhering to established procedures.
• Monitor day‑to‑day work progress, compare planned vs. actual performance and flag any delays.
• Provide variance analysis and feedback to the Planning Manager/Engineer.
• Assist in schedule preparation, progress monitoring and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support HSE initiatives and participate in safety awareness activities.

Required profile

• At least 1 month of experience in construction planning or related field.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication skills for reporting and stakeholder updates.

Required skills

• Proficiency with planning‑related software and tools.
• ERP knowledge, particularly SAP.
• Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
