Plant Purchasing Officer

About the role

The Plant Purchasing Officer is responsible for securing raw materials, components, and services needed for the manufacturing operations of CROWN Arabia Can Company Ltd. The role ensures timely delivery, cost‑effectiveness, and compliance with quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to achieve optimal value.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions according to company policies.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, including supplier information, pricing, and order history.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, and inventory teams to forecast material needs and optimise inventory levels.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and industry trends.
• Resolve disputes and discrepancies with suppliers regarding invoices, shipments, and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with purchasing regulations and company procurement policies.
• Support cost‑reduction initiatives and process improvements within the purchasing department.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Understanding of supplier management and inventory control principles.
• Familiarity with quality standards relevant to can manufacturing is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with purchasing software.
• Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
